Sorry for another question so soon, but I just found this great A/C silver and horn serving set and can't wait to show it off and see if anyone recognizes the mark The first part does look like a crown, though it is pretty blurred. Then 800, then then the initials HE. No date marks or other clues, and I am not sure if the crown is Finnish or something else, it does not seem to be in a heart? High Arts & Crafts design with cool horn fork and spoon in a twist design. Would love to attribute if I could - thank you!

Two questions: - Are you sure about the "HE"? Could it be a 'WTB' with the arms of the 'T' resting over the other letters? - Is there an even partial crescent moon somewhere to the left of the crown? IP: Logged |

Hi Arg(um)entum - Possible on the WTB with the raised T - initially I thought it was a B, and there IS a mark between the two letters, but the top of the is indistinct. The first mark is so blurred on both pieces, I just can't see a crescent - am using a 20x loupe and still can't make it out. If WTB, do you know the maker? It does have a very Jugensdstil look... Thank you very much for your help... IP: Logged |

'WTB' would be 'Wilhelm Binder in Schwäbisch Gmünd' a prolific producer. You'll find earlier posts here: book of silver marks and here: help reqd re hallmark IP: Logged |
