Has any member heard of a alloy the Germans started using during the 1930s called ' Rheingold '. I'm not sure if spelling is correct. What metals made up this alloy [I have heard silver is in it ] and is it still being used? , thanks , G. IP: Logged |

Rheingold in German or Rhinegold in English may be gold dust from the Rhine region, I can find no other use of the word for an alloy, see: rheingold-profi.de IP: Logged |

Thanks for the link..So basicly [and just to comfirm] is is gold dust from the Rhine Vally with small amount of silver and other minerals, and not a manufactured alloy or name for a German named 'special' alloy.. Thanks again , G. IP: Logged |

"I'm not sure if spelling is correct. If you drop the 'h' getting 'Reingold' then you have pure gold (i.e. 24 Kt). The context should guide you. IP: Logged |
