I have found a luncheon set of German flatware. I was told it was old. It has a rose bud at the top of each piece, with reticulated handles. They are marked with a crescent moon, a crown, and 800. Also, inside an oval, there is another mark "JOKER". If anyone can help with this, please email me. Thanks- Terry IP: Logged |

The crescent moon, crown, and 800 have marked German silver since 1888. I can't find any reference to "joker", which is not a German word. The letters may not be what they appear, since Germany at that time still used an archaic form of the Latin alpahbet called "schrift." Do you have a photo or can you describe the letters more fully? Try looking on ms word under insert symbols (on top of the window frame) for the letters that resemble those on your piece. The symbols include German characters. Good luck. TM IP: Logged |

It would be better if you just set up an album on photobuckets, which is completely free. That way you can put the picture on forum for others to see as well. Click on "how to post photos" above. It's easy. IP: Logged |
