We have a set of 9 cups/tops in the form musicians, with moveable heads. I believe they are German, 19th century. Here are the hallmarks:

BM | Lion(facing left) | e | f | tri-pointed shield

Any help with identifying these would be greatly appreciated.

These figures sound like typical late 19th - early 20th century German manufactures, probably from one of the makers in Hanau, such as Neresheimer or Roth. They appear to carry British import marks along with the "BM" mark of the sponsor/importer, Berthold Muller. The import marks used a symbol unique to each of the assay offices, and the same date letter sequence that the particular office was using at the time. I don't have any ref. books with me, but suspect that the import mark was applied at Birmingham.
