I have a set of 6 silver teaspoons in a satin lined box. I think they are German but I can't identify the maker or the town mark, or the likely date.

I first submitted this to British Silver by mistake

Thanks

i believe the crown and crescent moon were first used, along with the 800 standard, around 1888 until 1921 or 1922 to mark german silver. subsequently it has appeared again, but not in the same form. -mark77

The maker here is Koch & Bergfeld of Bremen, Germany. I don't know the pattern name, but it is one that they no longer make. (Founded in 1826, they're still in business.) "Shellenberg" would've been the retailer.

As for the crown & half moon, it has been used continually on silver made in Germany since 1888. The variations in its appearance are due to the fact that it is applied by each individual manufacturer rather than by any government agency.
