Can someone tell me the history of the Parrod made wine tasters. Mine only says Parrod Dijon ( stamped on the rim). Also, where the thumb goes, it says: Bourgognes, Patriarche, with a picture of a man looking at a bottle of wine. ???

Marc Parrod 1877-1944 He worked in Dijon 1903-44. His mark is an "M" an arrow and a "P" in a lozenge. He made a lot of wine tasters some of those, I have had, had a 18th century name and date engraved on them. I guess added (perhaps by him) to give the feeling of greater age. If you find a 20th century French first or second standard wine taster most were either made by him or Christofle.

Thanks for the info smile. My wine taster doesn't have an M, an arrow or a P . Except the P in Parrod is much bigger then the other letters of the name. Dijon is stamped under his name. No other marks . Also it is in a rectangle not a lozenge. Does this mean it's a fake and if so, who could have made it?

A picture would help, but probably it is plated.
