Have four mystery items bugging me, wondering if you wizards with amazing libraries can help me.

Number on is a small tray lion holding a sword. Appears middle east/southeast asia. Hallmarks appear to be a date letter, a rampant lion and something like "vvn" as a makers mark.

Second is a pretty little ole ladle with a rodenty thing and a sitting warthog and something like "J:PRN" as a makers mark.

Third is a gilt set of apostle spoons with a large bowl marked Castle and an "I" on the side of the bowl. Probably another dutch fakey but the quality of the castle is quite good and also quite large??

Lastly is a table/serving spoon with a horsey kinda mark and a 90. Netherlands?

Well enjoy and look forward to your comments!!!

Thanx,

Daz

Wow. I'll have to some checking for these. The only one I can identify straightaway is the second one - the warthog. It's the mark used in Portugal from 1886 to 1938. Specifically, in this canted square outline, it was used in two cities: Gondomar (with a small "D" above his snout - this office closed in 1913) and Oporto (with nothing above his snout). Also, the Roman numeral below his snout indicated the fineness: I = .916; II = .833

Yes the under snout number is II so it is 833/1000. Thanx that's great.
