[26-0336] Help, I have a pair of silver salts with the marks 710MMET 4/p50K on the bottom. I have no idea what these mean. They are 2-1/4" across and 1-1/4" high with glass inserts. Can anyone help? Thank you IP: Logged |

I have seen a similar mark, if not the same, on part enamelled salts that possibly originate from later 20th century Russia and are plated. A pic would help. IP: Logged |

Posting pictures would definitely help, but my mother has collected salts for many years and this sounds like some that she has. Believe they are Russian, made of a silver plated nickel-based alloy (Melkhior?), and seem to date from around the 1950s-'70s. She has several different enamel designs and one without enamel. There's a spoon that comes with them, usually the same pattern, regardless of the design of the salt. Cheryl IP: Logged |
