I have small table snuff box ? Box is about 7cm tall and has scene on the top of the box and scene on lower shelf both with man and woman, top scene he is playing pipe her minding sheep and the lower scene she is picking fruit and he is putting into a box. both are dressed in old fashion clothes. The box has swirled leaves and little flowers running around the side and the box and the shelf are held up by little cabriole legs with little feet that look like paws? the markings I cannot find anywhere, books from library and the internet. Markings on box rim are TH (a little sun) 925 K under the box there is five elongated rings..a thing like a pinapple..a fluer de lis.. the last has what looks like bundles tied in the middle two at the top and one at the bottom. Any help would be appreciated . This little box I think has some connection to the Hine Cognac family as was given to me by a member of the Hine family, they dont know anymore than I do. Many thanks IP: Logged |

Posting a photo of the piece and the marks would be most helpful. See the guidelines for how to post photographs. IP: Logged |

Have a look in the General topic forum - under 'Fun Spoon' - I guess that you will find that the fleur de lis and (upsidesown) pineapple are similar to the marks on your box. You really need Blakstone (who is a genius) to interpret the exact maker for you - but it will be Germany c.1900 I think. IP: Logged |
