I have a russian teapot which has been in our family for the last 150 years. The teapot is from St.Petersburg and from somewhere of middle of the 19th century. I was interested to find information of the maker which I have not been able to find. I think the name on the mark is something like N.Norelin but it is a little unclear.

I'm unable to tell you anything about the silversmith/workmaster, but I can say that the assaymaster's mark (The initials above the date) seem to indicate Dmitrii Ilyich Tverskoy, active in St. Petersburg 1832-1850. From the image, it looks as though perhaps 1833 is possible. This information is taken from Postnikova-Loseva et al. Gold and Silver Work 15th-20th Centuries. IP: Logged |
