It's not silver, but I thought somebody might have a clue about this old flatware piece. It is brass tea strainer, made (rather crudely in some places) by hand. The handle features three stamped, coin-like motifs as well as other stamped shapes. The "coins" feature a stamped double eagle with some kind of letter or character on its chest. There are also some characters a long the bottom edges of the coins, but they just look like 1s and 0s to me. The thing has kind of a German feel to me, but I'm not really sure. It also seems to be quite old, perhaps late 18C or early 19C. Any ideas?
