A fancy Pez dispenser? A clear photo is a must to be able to come up with a meaningful answer. IP: Logged |

Yes, a photo is a must. The J.M.M.V.D. BROEK part is a Dutch name (JMM van den Broek); NED is likely short for Netherlands; the OCTR part is likely a date in October; HAAG is what we know in English as The Hague. The No. could be a registration number, or something else. None of this has any bearing on what the piece is or does (unless the number is a registration number, and someone has access to the Dutch records), thus the need for a photo.... Your item will probably be a sugar dispencer: the opening at the bottom is mostly half a lump in size: fill the cilinder with sugar, push the knob and voilŕ the sugar comes out into your teacup. Other types exist, they are mostly made in between wars, mostly plated and in popular demand till the 1960's. The text on the bottom: first J.M.M. V[an] D[en] Broek = name of manufacturer. NED. Octrooi = 'Dutch Patent' n° etc., Haag = Den Haag or 'The Hague' in English, could be city were it was patented or made, I'm not sure. IP: Logged |
