[26-0973] Hi, I would be very grateful for help with information about 12 inherited circular silver bowls. They are all 4" (10.2cm) in diameter and have the same hallmark. The engraving is ornate, and each has a different design. I believe the hallmarks indicate they are pre-1946 Egyptian, but I do not know the city (Cairo? Alexandria?) or the exact date. The engravings include words in Arabic. I'd be grateful for any help as to what they mean?? (See three examples below).

Alexandria 1933 Purity at least 900/1000 pure. The writing might read 'Suliman' - I think it propably is simply decorative, trying to look like real Arabic inscriptions. IP: Logged |
