My wife and I bought a set of cutlery at a "brocante" in South West France this summer. We are trying to figure out where it was made and by whom, and of course what it is made from. The brand name appears to be VITTORIA. My first impression is that it comes from Spain, as I was only a few hour drive from the Spanish border. Maybe it is Italian. The cutlery is all stamped ARG008. I have not been able to find out what the stamp means. The ARG likely stands for argent, or silver, in French (or some other romantic language variation). But what does the 008 mean? I am assuming that it has to do with plating, but I am unsure. Has anybody here come across this mark before? Please pardon me if I am the only one who doesn't know what it means :-) Thanks for your help. IP: Logged |

Hello and welcome to the forum, We really need some photos to help identify what sounds like a very beautiful set. We also ask new members to tell us a bit about themselves and their interest in collecting silver. Regards, IP: Logged |
