[26-1394] This set of flatware was brought by Allan Nilsson's grandparents to New York around the turn of the century. It was their wedding silver, and it is set for 12. We have the original fitted chest and all of the pieces save one of the smaller spoons (7 1/4 inches). I cannot find the name of the maker and would appreciate any help identifying it and a possible source for the missing spoon. Many thanks for your help.

The mark indicates that your set was made in Stockholm in 1903 by Erasmus Lindström (1853-1939), working Linköping 1878-1880, Norrköping 1882-1885, Söderköping 1885-1886, and finally Stockholm 1888-1910. (He evidently lived in America between 1880 and 1882.) This pattern is traditionally called "Greque" in Sweden. The forum rules prohibit any commercial links or references, but now that you know the pattern name you might try hunting on the web for it and "silver sked" (Swedish for "silver spoon".) Hope this helps! IP: Logged |
