Does anyone recognize a maker's mark "N. Bourgeois" on French plate. I have both a spoon and heavy ladle with that mark on handle and the "metal blanc" and weight designation stamped in small squares on the bowls. Therefore I presume this is French plate in the approximate 1880 - 1920 time frame, but I've never heard of this silversmith nor does Monsieur Google? IP: Logged |

I've looked somewhere and till now I found a certain Francis Bourgeois, he was enameller& engraver died in 1799 perhaps a relation to the one you are looking for. But is it possible to send a photo from the object/s? I found this name on a list from Philadelphia gold/silversmith at snip/etc. But if we can see a photo it will help a lot for than the experts can give the right answer, greetings silverhunter!
