The seller seemed to sincerely believe this was a whatzit. They believed it was an "egg stand". June and I couldn't say what its purpose might have been. We speculated that it might have been a night jewelery stand where someone might place rings/cuff links/earrings. So what do you think? It is about the size of an extra large egg or a small goose egg. IP: Logged |

Looks to me like a good size for a nut dish, but Ercuis simply calls it the Ellipse "small footed cup", there are also two larger similar pieces, along with a matching and rather odd looking "table center" bowl.....all part of the Fluide series. From the Ercuis catalog:
