Since Egypt has been the news ...., it got me musing about Egypt’s influence in/on the art of metal craft; ancient, late 1800 - early 1900 Egyptian Revival, flatware, holloware, jewelry, etc. So I thought it might be a good time for us all to ruminate. We don’t have any Egyptian antique silver to share. Do you? IP: Logged |

Hello hose_dk! In speaking to a friend from Egypt he has told me that the literal translation of the words on the box says Patience is good. How that fits with the match box he couldn't say. He also said he would check with another friend re the marks. He would like to see a better picture of them. When I get more info I'll let you know.
