[01-1035] Please could anyone i.d. a Danish silversmith using a mark that looks like an H over S (or vice versa?) The items, (cutlery) have the three tower Copenhagen assay office mark, dated 1935, and show also the mark for assay master J Sigsgaard. This is consistent as Sigsgaard started his term in 1933. Hermann Siersbol has been suggested, but I thought he opened his firm in 1948, and specialized in jewellery.

This is just a guess, but in one of my Danish silver books there is listed one Hans Christian Siiger operating in Kobenhavn circa 1913. Unfortunately, I have no further info on this person at this time. IP: Logged |

There is/was a Hans Christian Siiger in Kopenhavn who produced jewelry and who seems to have signed with some sort of 'HS'. Could he be the one June mentions? Maybe someone more knowledgeale can comment on the likelyhood of the same man producing both flatware and jewelry and on the likely period this was created. quote: IP: Logged |

The mark is HS and it is H for Horsens - Horsens being a city in Jutland (part of Denmark is the penisuilin of Jutland and the islands being the other parts) Horsens Sølvvarefabrik Silver factory. 1904 onwards - i think untill 2009, but not sure of last year. IP: Logged |
