[01-0910] Can anyone please help me identify this hallmark? At the minimum, I'd like to know what country I'm dealing with. I've looked at Jackson's U.K. hallmark book and Kovel's American Silver book, but to no avail. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Looks like Hungary somewhere in the 1930s. IP: Logged |

Thanks Richard, that would have been one of my last guesses. Can you tell me how you picked Hungary? Unfortunately, my reference, The Book of Old Silver by Seymour Wyler, doesn't extend into 1930's. Any recommendations on a comparable book that comes forward beyond the mid 1800's? Thanks again for replying with the country tip, I'll start digging again. Regards, IP: Logged |

The marks with Diana are the Austria - Hungary standards marks for 800 silver. See: International Hallmarks on Silver by Tardy IP: Logged |

Have I mentioned that you guys rock?! Thanks a lot for the additional lead, especially the reference book. After Richard's post, I figured out I had to head to Austria, but I still didn't get far. With Tardy's text, I hope to decipher most of the pieces. Thanks! IP: Logged |
