swarter Moderator Posts: 2920 Registered: May 2003	posted 10-10-2003 10:37 AM The slashed O is found in Scandinavian alphabets, so the origin of your spoon is probably in one of those countries. Arg(um)entum Posts: 304 Registered: Apr 2002	posted 10-10-2003 11:42 AM 'Nysølv' is Danish and translates to 'newsilver', i.e. the same term as 'Neusilber' in German which is what we now call 'nickel silver'. It is the alloy used to make decent quality silverplated flatware. It contains no actual silver. The number '60' is one found with some frequency on European electroplated flatware. So that is probably what you have. IP: Logged
