Hi there,

I just bought a spoon from a garage sale. On the reverse is the signature K. Jacobsen with the danish towers symbol with "38" below them and a crossed swords type mark.

Also on the reverse is a stylized monogram "DFH".

Was wondering if you could tell me the date or anything else about it?

Hi Scotia,

Would you be able to post pictures of the spoon and marks? The three towers mark has been used at different times on Danish silver. Usually when I see it with a "38" it's for 1938, and there's generally an assayer's mark. I'm having a problem visualizing your "crossed swords" mark. Pictures would definitely help in dating. I find K.Jacobsen as a mark for the Knud Jacobsen company in Silkeborg Denmark (1906-83).
