I have a sterling silver spoon that has the Copenhagen mark (and 27) and the Christian Heise assayer mark and also a small M encased in sort of a figure 8. It has an ebony wood handle and the bowl looks to be hand hammered. I am trying to find out the maker.

Welcome to the forums!

Why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself, your interest in silver, and how you came about your spoon (which has what sounds like the mark of the famous firm of Carl Madsen Cohr (1862-1925) of Fredericia)?

Thank you for your thoughts on the maker of my spoon. The hallmark does look like the Carl Madsen Cohr mark. I came by this spoon through my sister who, while cleaning out her attic, came upon a cache of silver pieces that were her mother-in-laws. I have been trying to identify the pieces for her. It has been a very interesting process. I have learned quite a bit about early 20th century silver. I don't know what my sister will do with this information but now she will know what she has. Most of the silver pieces were American and easier to identify.
Thank you again.
Nancy

27 refers to 1927 in this case.

The 3 towers was first used in 1608 - and the differs every year ever since.

A picture might be a good idea - maybe I can help you.
