I'm relatively certain the the mark on this spoon is for Rostock, Germany. 3 sources I referenced, including Tardy, state that this mark was not used after the 17th century, but this spoon is clearly not that old. I would guess the date to be more late 18th century. The monograms may suggest that the spoon was handed down through several generations? IP: Logged |

The pattern is 'Gammal Fransk' (Old French), classic Swedish, originating in the 18th century... ~Cheryl [This message has been edited by dragonflywink (edited 11-02-2017).] IP: Logged |

Thank you both for the replies. I find it interesting how some patterns become traditional and don't change for long periods of time. IP: Logged |
