[26-2367] Greetings! A few years ago I posted photos and questions about silver my husband and I received from his family who were from Norway. Both relatives have now passed, and we recently received the remainder of their silver. Two of the pieces I like the most are a punch (soup?) ladle and a large pudding / dressing spoon. They are about 12 inches long.
Here is a close up of the ladle handle: Here is the ladle mark. Does anyone know anything about Christiansen&Svendsen? I've found other silver makers named Christiansen but no Svendsen. I found one other piece by this maker by searching on the intranet but there was no information about the maker. Most of our silver is Norwegian, so I'd assume this is too.
Here is a close up of the spoon handle: I can't find any reference or identification of the spoons maker. Can anyone help me? Here is the mark. Thanks for letting me share! IP: Logged |

Hello to You, I don't know if I've reacted in the past, but I will do it for now. You have beautiful silverflatware, I like the style which it is made, with the beautiful engraving work.I think it belonged to a complet set of dinner flatware, given by family for the wedding of your husbands relatives formaly. I had also a few Norwegian silver flatware, put some question at the forum and I was informed that this kind of names, also good be the name of the retailer in the livingplace were your relatives were married and lived. Late 19th or early 20th century dating for these ones. They are in excellent condition. Keep them as a set and use them for instance with Christmas, use with an emotional value and family history. Have a nice Christmas and happy new year! IP: Logged |
