Hi Everyone... Awhile back I had asked for info on this spoon...you of course helped. Then I thought the spoon was sold...anyway it was not and I put it back in inventory and Now I realize I do Not the all the info I would Like....I know it was called a Desert spoon I believe...English...any help on the date and maker? Thank you Roger

The makers' mark WE/WF/WC, as illustrated in your earlier post, is shown in Grimwade as having been entered in 1808 by William Eley, William Fearn, and William Chawner, London spoonmakers. The date would threfore be 1809 (as correctly given earlier), and not 1789 (the other possible "o" letter) [This message has been edited by swarter (edited 08-06-2003).] IP: Logged |
