I need help. I recently bought a number of Victorian flatware pieces in the King's pattern. I found they were made in London from 1848 to 1852 and have the young Victoria duty mark, but I couldn't find the maker's name in my small library. The mark is SH-DC. I'd appreciate any help. IP: Logged |

Samuel Hayne & Dudley Carter entered partnership in 1836. Samuel Hayne was the son of silversmith Jonathan Hayne who went into partnership with Thomas Wallis Jr. c. 1810 at 16 Red Lion Street, Clerkenwell. Samuel & Dudley continued business at the Red Lion location. Cater retired in 1864. Samuel continued at 16 Red Lion Street until he filed for bankruptcy in 1865.
