I'm not getting to far with this one........ any help or eye transplant would help. I can see a passant but not sure about much else.

Any chance of a close-up of the maker's mark? It looks like a script W something? IP: Logged |

Having given my glasses a good clean, I think the last mark (to the right) is the London date letter for 1768/69.
There are several makers that used a script W something for their mark, but the one that looks closest to me was entered the same year and is, unfortunately, listed as "Untraced" in Jackson's. IP: Logged |

I got down and tried to clean out the makers mark......... it's a deep one and probably had old polish in it. (kagaroo brand)
This might be a bit better. IP: Logged |

Much better -- a pretty mark; not sure of who it is, but it is pretty. One possibility is William Tant who was working in London 1750-1780, though the cartouche is not as shown in Jackson. Oddly, it most looks like the mark of William Davie, working in Edinburgh from 1740-1780. Perhaps one of our readers better versed in English wares can chime in. IP: Logged |
