I have discovered a very nice covered silver cup from London with marks for 1751/1752 with marks identified as Thomas Cook and Richard Gurnsey... the mug is very nice indeed, I cannot find a single blemish that I would not expect to find on a piece of this age. I have been unable to find any references to these makers. I want to see if anyone has any info about these fellows. I do not own this "Yet" but am considering buying as it is excaptional in design and beauty. Any info would be great! Thanks "Smaug" IP: Logged |

Thomas Cooke (II) and Richard Gurney entered their first mark in 1727, and others in 1734, 1739 and 1750. All the marks except the first were entered as "Richard Gurney & Co." The initials are in a four-lobed reserve, T•C vertically, and R•G horizontally. Their biographies are in Grimwade. They worked together for 46 years, until 1773.
