I have a silver gondola with the following hallmarks BM, 925, P and a fancy U shape. On the reverse side there appears to be a flower pot with grape type flowers growing out of it also some other icons that are difficult to identify there appears to be a larger BM on this side, any ideas to it's origin Thanks IP: Logged |

Rules have been changed, so that if you plan to post further requests in any but the General Forum, registration will be required. Please register, and try to post either photographs or drawings of the marks, as it is difficult or impossible to make identifications on descriptions alone. See the "How to Post Photographs" at the top of the page. IP: Logged |

The marks you describe don't sound British. Given that your object is a gondola, Venice, Italy seems a strong possibility. IP: Logged |
