This is from a set of 6 goblets or small cups my mother bought in London in 1970.

I am new to this, but would like to learn what these markings mean in the photo.

Thanks

In fact your goblets were made in 1973.

The four marks are as follows:
The standing lion (lion passant) indicates British sterling silver.
The cat's face (a leopard) that the pieces were assayed, or tested, in London
The letter "s" is the year, corresponding to 1973. Every year a different letter was used, and every cycle of letters is different.
The HPLP shield is the maker's mark; who, though, I'm afraid I don't know.

Parsons were the family who owned one of the nicest and oldest silversmiths and jewellers in London TESSIER's - they only sold pices of the best quality - their customers included many titled families - sadly recently gone and the wonderful georgian exterior painted purple!!
