Does anyone know who this makers mark was registered to? It is stamped on an Edinburg 1823 small ladle. The makers mark is just the three letters separated by periods. There is no shield/cartouche shape around it. It is not listed in my copy of "The Book of Old Silver" by Seymour Wyler, but I can't imagine that there were too many Scottish silversmiths with an initial 'Z'. IP: Logged |

Hi there Maker would be S.S.Zempleburg, whose mark was entered in 1820. Source is Jacksons, full version, page 563. Yes, the initials made identification quite easy! Cheers Waylander IP: Logged |
