This is a puzzling one for me; a friend of mine has a spoon with the following markings:

Lion passant in a hexagon makes me think of Holland - but I'd need to see a photo to confirm. IP: Logged |

Here is Waylander's mark:
The lion with number 2 indicates Dutch 83.3% silver while the letter "q" is the date letter for 1875. But I'm afraid I don't know the maker. IP: Logged |

Amsterdam 1875 maker: The Widow of Hendrik Helweg (Widow in Dutch is abbreviated to Wed, hence the W HH in the mark) she was nee Maria Jacoba Fredriks. IP: Logged |

I forgot. Between 1814 and 1953 there are two standards of silver used in Holland -
