I just found a pair of spoons that I need some help identifying. I am including a picture, but it is with my old camera, so the marks are not going to be easy to see. The makers' marks appear to be Tennent & Co., Glasgow makers, but the spoons do not have date marks or duty marks. One spoon has the T&Co. maker's mark and a left-facing lion passant, which appears to have been overlain on another mark which is unreadable. The second spoon has remnants of a mark that could be the bottom "fish" base of the Glasgow mark, but is mostly overtamped by a lion rampant, followed by the T&Co mark and a left facing lion passant. Any help as to dates and explanation of marks would be appreciated.

I note that my descriptions are in reverse of their appearance in the photo! IP: Logged |

Between your old camera & my old eyes... I can't see enough detail, but suggest you check the Anglo-Indian marks used by Twentyman & Co for similarities. IP: Logged |

Does anyone have a recommendation for a source book with Anglo-Indian marks, or even better, can someone post a mark for Twentyman & Co? Thanks, Scott, for blowing up the photo, although it doesn't make it much clearer! IP: Logged |
