I assume that as you have listed this question in the British/Irish section, you are certain that you have a British or Irish piece. My main reference work, Jackson, lists 11 GAs and there are certainly others not listed there, so we really need to see a picture. That said, there is one GA which is far more common than any of the others; if your mark has GA in 2 conjoined circles and dates between 1840 and about 1880, then it was made by Chawner & Co (GA stands for George Adams in this case).
