I have a wonderful, what I would call, "Teapot" . I've identified it to London, 1824. It has a makers mark that looks something like this: W F I'm not sure about the second column of letters. It's hard to read. Any help would be greatly appreciated. =============== IP: Logged |

If the letter in the second column is an "E", my guess would be William, Charles and Henry Eley. IP: Logged |

It could also be that it is a WF and the maker was William Fearn, who worked with William Eley. I have not seen his listing with any of the other Eleys, but the dating is consistent with the later pieces I have seen for William Fearn/William Eley works. IP: Logged |

I found one makers mark for that period WE Could that be it? Unfortunately, some initial marks have not been traced and this appears to be one of them? TM IP: Logged |

I believe that Patrick is correct in identifying the makers as William, Charles & Henry Eley. The Eley brothers entered their joint mark in July 1824 and it looks as if they went their separate ways early in 1825 as both William and Charles entered their own marks in January 1825. So 1824 is probably the only year for which this mark can be seen. Phil IP: Logged |
