Sugar tongs, London, 1859/60, maker's mark is SH (or SR) over DC in a quatrefoil (four lobed frame). Can someone identify this maker? Thanks IP: Logged |

That would be for the rather prolific flatware partnership of Samuel Haynes and Duncan Cater, I think. IP: Logged |

Almost right: Samuel Hayne & Dudley Cater. Their partnership started in 1836 operating the firm started by Thomas Wallis in 1780 and continued by Thomas Wallis & Jonathan Hayne (Samuel's father). Phil IP: Logged |
