A dealer at the Miami shows let me take the following photos to send to a friend who has horses. I didn’t think my friend would be interested because the price was 20 times more expense then he (or I) would consider but I thought he would like to seem them. Since I had the photo and there is no business related to this I thought I would post the photos for your comments and enjoyment.

Are the horses named? Or the artist? Perhaps they are generic horses. But I have seen others where the horse had a name and geneology as well as owner and trophies listed. Very nice set. Thanks for sharing. IP: Logged |

I don’t know the horses names or the artist. Why the dealer felt confident to ask what seemed like a very high price I didn’t explore (I will not repeat the actual $). I suppose the price could have been reasonable because I don’t have the experience with such items to know. The same dealer had two other hunt scene items. I don’t recall the prices of these two items but I believe that together they were less than half the price of the menu holders. IP: Logged |

WOW! I must say, what a fabulous collection of horse items. Being a horse lover myself, the place card holders are quite breathtaking! I will say that I am a bit intrigued by the different breed of horses represented. From my experience (from a distance, I may add) of admiring equestrian enamels and other silver items, most are of hunt scenes or of race horses. This diverse collection of breeds (Thoroughbred, Shire/Draft, Carriage Horse and saddle/pleasure horse) seem to be a representative of the different breeds rather than of perhaps a group of famous horses. What an interesting find! Of course, I am challenged enough in feeding my horses let alone trying to collect such wonderful examples as these. Thanks for sharing. IP: Logged |
