Hi all, new to this so apologies in advance. A family item I would like to know more about. Sugar sifter which I think is Birmingham 1811 dated but the anchor is almost gone so it may not be an anchor! The makers mark would help but can't trace it T.HH I am also curious as to why there is no duty mark ? I hope the picture is OK. Glad of any help to trace the maker or confirm the date.

Even without the photograph, I can surmise from your post that what you have is BIRMINGHAM 1912 (a small n date letter like the 1811 n, but less angular and without an accompanying king's head) - the maker THH is THOMAS H. HAZLEWOOD, a manufacturer who specialised in small hollow-ware such as casters. Hope this helps! IP: Logged |

Great many thanks, that explains the lack of a duty mark. I couldn't find the maker so very grateful for that. PS sorry the photo was too large, will try harder next time. IP: Logged |
