I have a bunch of English spoons from my grandmother. She was from Newfoundland but her ancestors were from England. I found a book, but it is hard to figure out. Here is one of the spoons.

This is known as a "berry spoon". The hallmark dates it as London, 1781/82, but I cannot make out the maker's mark from your picture. The decoration is not original and would have been applied during mid to late Victorian times when the fashion was to go for over-the-top decoration. Phil IP: Logged |
