Please help me identify the marks in a master salt spoon. They are: WP inside a crown, EP inside a shield, a crest (like that on a boyscout badge) in a circle, and a star inside a circle, also the letter B inside a diamond. I don't know a thing about this so any help is greatly appreciated. IP: Logged |

Thanks DB, it does help some but I am confused a bit. The maker William Page created mark in 1784. Spoon was made in 1886? Please explain further. IP: Logged |

"EPNS - Electroplated Nickel Silver, Old Sheffield Plate and Close Plate, Maker's Mark from 1784" is the full title of Mr. Mappin's book. 1784 just happens to be the first date covered by the book. That was the date Sheffield Plate makers obtained an Act of the Parliament legalizing a mark. From this thread it looks like a good book to have.
