I have a silver coloured goblet. The underneath is stamped James Deakin & Sons, Savoy Hotel, A297, H.P.H 951 and an indestinguishable, lighter but bigger stamp that looks like E15 -36. It is very heavy for it's size which is 4" high. the bowl is 33/4" diameter. Any ideas?? ------------------ IP: Logged |

Your item is electroplated - the E15etc. mark might be EPNS (electroplated nickel silver). James Deakin & Sons is a Sheffield firm, listed from 1871 to 1900. IP: Logged |

Thanks for that. It doesn't look like EPNS though. It's definitely E15 then a gap, then an undistinguishable number then 36. I haven't seen one of these anywhere, but it seems to have been used in the Savoy Hotel as part of their tableware....... IP: Logged |
