Hi,

I don't have the correct books to ID this hallmark. Does anyone immediately recognize it? I figure the 'S' in a octagon denotes the silver content, and 'EP' denotes the year (unknown to me). I just can't figure it out, there's nothing on the net. The Pics:

Thanks in advance!

I can't help with the maker, but the EP is the standard marking for Electro-Plate which means they are silver plated, not silver.

The SF and arrows mark belonged to Shaw & Fisher, of Sheffield, England. The company is listed in Pigot's Directory of 1834 as "Britannia Metal Manufacturers". Britannia metal was a type of pewter which, with the invention of elecroplating, became a popular base metal for silverplating hollowware.
