[01-1267] Please help me identify these makers marks. They are on a large silver basket measuring about 14 inches tall. I believe this is silver plated over copper. There was a receipt with this from 10/17/68 for $77.00. It says one basket re-plated. Could someone please help me figure out who made this and what time frame this is from? Thanks.

If I read the letters correctly as B&G, they resemble those shown for Boardman & Glossop of Sheffield, as shown in the table of Victorian (Electro) Plate Marks in Wyler's Book of Sheffield Plate. They are not listed in the table of (Old) Sheffield Plate Marks. A more recent source might have later information. [This message has been edited by swarter (edited 10-15-2003).] IP: Logged |
