Can you help I have a bowl/turin in silver/plated with a lid it has markings on underside indentation of a long trumpet, then a capital H indent then Ld and in a triangle A1, it also has a number A557/2 and Harrods of London indentation. Brian IP: Logged |

The trumpet mark makes me wonder about James Dixon & Sons of Sheffield being the manufacturer. Harrods, of course, was and is a famous department store and in this case was the retailer. Photos might help to confirm this and suggest a possible date. The A1 mark as well as the absence of English silver hallmarks indicate your bowl is silverplate.
