I've inherited a pair of silver sugar tongs dated 1876/7, London. The makers mark is as follows: TH TH Any ideas who this might be? Thanks! IP: Logged |

Assuming the date is right, the best candidate for your tongs is one THOMAS HALL. He was the London agent for the (huge) Sheffield manufacturers Hawksworth Eyre & Co. Fron 1873 he has his own business in London and was responsible for many pieces of 'retail' goods being marked in London (Wedding present things, often in presentation cases - your tongs may well have started out in a presentation case along with six or twelve teaspoons!!)
