I guess, and don't be furious if I am wrong! that your maker's mark is actually AC over MC with a tiny o after the Call in a shield shaped punch.
This would make it the Alexander Clark Manufacturing Co., who sent their pieces to London, Birmingham, Chester and Sheffield to be hallmarked.
Started in 1891, opened their factory in Randall Street, Sheffield in 1900.

Started by CLIFT ALEXANDER MAWER CLARK in London 1891 - described as 'dressing bag, portmanteau, purse and empty bag maker, silversmith & cutler'.
He was evidently successful and opened his first manufactory in London (29 Market Place) in 1894. Grand showrooms were opened at 125 Fenchurch Street in the City of London in 1901.
In 1906 the partners are listed as Alexander Clark (as above, but used the name Alexander) and Robert Frederick Mosley.
By 1910 Robert Fead (sic) Mosley and Louis Vernon Clark were also partners.
The partnership became a limited company in 1912 with just C.A.M.Clark and Robert Fead Mosley as directors.
C.A.M.C. was still alive in 1938.

n.b. The Mosleys had their own manufactory in Sheffield and were probably the major suppliers of larger pieces and hollow ware to Alexander Clark Manufacturing Co.

So your mug MAY have been made by R.F.Moseley & Co. for Alexander Clark Manufacturing Co.

Hope this helps.
