First off, I'm sorry for the picture. It was the best I could get. I volunteer at our Thrift Shop at Marine Corps Base Hawaii and we got this teapot in as a donation. I'm trying to get some information on it.

The top line is HE & Co
The design is a column top with the word CAPITAL underneath
numbers 131
number 4
and the EPBM which I did read was Electroplated Britannia metal

If anyone can help me out with theses marks I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!

EPBM is generally considered to stand for Electro Plated Britannia Metal - your piece is thus Silverplate, of Britsh manufacture. Additionally, HE&Co is the PLATE markings for Hawksworth, Eyre & Company; they were, and I quote, "A Sheffield based company who manufactured mostly silver plated flatware, but hallmarked silver items are to be found. They were established in 1833 and produced until just before the first World War".

Not sure about the Capital markings - may have referred to the particular line of pieces.

Cheers

That was wonderful Waylander! Thank you for your help. I'll try to look into the company now and see if I can find a Capital line. Thank you again!!
