I have an eperne. I do not know origin, but it is very ornate. It's metal (Silver or silver plate) with cut crystal bowls. On the bottom are hallmarks - "WH", "&", "S", a very fancy "B", a very fancy "P" and the last is a WP with an A under those letters. another hallmark is "No 88877" There is printing that says " Hard Soldered and the number "3". Can someone tell me if this is silver or plate, who made it and what country and the year? Thank you IP: Logged |

My guess is William Hutton & Sons of Sheffield, England. I'm pretty certain it's silverplate - could the elaborate BP be EP, electro-plate, if not Brittania plate is another possibility. If you can post photos of the piece and the marks someone may be able to confirm this and provide a date. IP: Logged |
