I recently acquired this great Irish stuffing spoon. I know that the maker's mark of RG is for Richard Garde of Cork and that the Dublin assay marks are consistent, as during this time period, Cork silversmiths were required to send their pieces to Dublin for assaying. However, the piece also has the mark of R. Cave and I am wondering if anyone knows that mark. I have found a couple of examples on the Internet of Dublin silver with the mark, but without attribution. Any help would be appreciated!
